Lucasfilm Games(TM) Presents
LOOM(TM) January 1990 CES Preview
HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
IBM PC, XT, AT, PS/2(TM), Tandy and 100% compatibles with 512K RAM and
CGA, EGA, MCGA, VGA or Tandy 16-color graphics. Hard disk recommended.
Supports optional AdLib(TM) Music Synthesizer Card,
Creative Labs Game Blaster(TM) and Sound Blaster(TM) Cards,
Roland MT-32 Sound Module and Roland LAPC-1 Sound Card.
FLOPPY DISK OPERATION
After booting your system, insert the preview disk into floppy drive A,
type A: at the DOS prompt and press ENTER. When you see the A> prompt,
type LOOMDEMO and press ENTER again to view the preview.
HARD DISK OPERATION
Create a subdirectory called LOOMDEMO. Copy the LOOMDEMO.EXE file and all
of the .LFL files into this new subdirectory.
To view the preview, enter the LOOMDEMO subdirectory, type LOOMDEMO
at the DOS prompt and press ENTER.
SETTING PREFERENCES
The preview will automatically select the best graphics mode for your
computer. It will also check to see if you have an AdLib(TM), Game
Blaster(TM) or Sound Blaster(TM) board installed, and select the
appropriate sounds to play. If you wish to override the automatic
settings, add one or more of the following letters (separated by spaces)
after the word LOOMDEMO when you start the preview:
c CGA graphics
e EGA graphics
m MCGA graphics
v VGA graphics
t Tandy 16-color graphics
i Internal speaker sound
a AdLib/Sound Blaster sound
g Game Blaster sound
r Roland MT-32/LAPC-1 sound
For example, to start the preview with CGA graphics and AdLib sounds,
type LOOMDEMO A C at the DOS prompt.
* IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ROLAND MT-32/LAPC-1 USERS *
You MUST include the letter r after the word LOOMDEMO to reliably
activate your MT-32 or LAPC-1 hardware. Simply type LOOMDEMO R after
the DOS prompt.
